Spring break is 2 weeks and we need some fun ideas to keep our kids busy. There are so many great ideas I couldn't show them all in 5 minutes!
If it's beautiful out getting some fun new outdoor toys is a good idea. On a blustery day bring a kite to your local park or grab a new kickball or soccer ball and play with your kids. The fun Beamo fabric frisbee is also a great choice to get kids outside and active.
If your kids like to dig and explore try some fun buckets & shovels or the Optic Wonder (shown on Midday). The Optic Wonder is an awesome multi tool for exploring. A mini telescope or binoculars are also fun for the nature lover.
If it happens to be rainy and you stay indoors and you don't want tv or video games on all day you have to get creative! A new craft kit to keep kids occupied is always a good idea. The color-a-capes that we carry give kids dual play value. To start with its a fun craft and then they get to pretend play with their beautiful new cape. The capes are amazing quality and will last through many spring break play times. The On Midday I also brought a really cool "window" bird house. Kids can paint & decorate it then it attaches to your window with suction cups. It has a clear window so you can watch the birds inside! Crafty and educaitonal too!
Another quiet indoor activity is puzzles! By now you know we have a HUGE selection. On Midday I brought some new mini two sided puzzles that are not only great for a quiet indoor day but small enough to double as a travel toy too.
Of course no spring break would be complete for alot of kids without time to build Lego. Lego is the top selling toy worldwide for a good reason - kids can be creative and build endlessly. To rejuvinate their interest sometimes adding a new kit gets them going. On Midday I brought a few tiny kits that are super-cute and just enough to peak their interest again.
And for the travellers it's a great idea to have new interesting things to keep the kids busy, whether on a plane, in a car or just out to visit relatives. Melissa & Doug On the Go books are a go-to best-seller in our shop for kids from ages 2 to 10. On Midday I brought on Wikki Sticks. I think they are an awesome choice for travel. They are compact, not messy and allow for endless creativity. Another great travel choice is the Crayola Take Along Dry Erase set (shown on Midday). It comes complete with the markers & eraser and the white board all folded in a neat compact set. Kids can draw over and over on the surface and stay busy.
If you're ever in need of suggestions to keep kids happy & busy our staff are always ready to show you our favorites and the tried and true.
